At Kirton Lane Primary School we believe that school is about growing and improving and getting better. That might mean improving our handwriting ,kicking a football becoming a better reader or improving our Literacy skills. But there are other skills that we feel are as important to children’s wider development: ‘essential life skills’ such as confidence, social skills, selfcontrol, motivation, and resilience. These are the attitudes, skills and behaviours that we want our children to be  successful at , and this includes the ability to respond to setbacks, work well with others, build relationships, communicate effectively, manage emotions, and cope with difficult situations.
